NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT SALISBURY ON SATURDAY NIGHT!
Salisbury 8.35 Fleurman (5/2)
Likeable type who left previous form well behind to make a winning handicap debut here in May, staying on strongly having initially been outpaced; good second up to this trip for the first time at Doncaster; more to come now.
Despite the NAP taking a walk in the market yesterday out to 3/1 at one stage Wishaah came there on the bridle to win going away. It was a much needed winner and hopefully we can go on a run now. We head to Salisbury on Saturday night and the 3yo FLEURMAN can get back to winning ways. This son of Mastercraftsman made a winning handicap debut at this track before bumping into a decent horse in Monbaher at Doncaster. I know the latter has since disappointed but he ran too bad to be true and the third Prison Break has since franked the form. He remains unexposed over this trip and I think he can improve again to take this out. Genesius is probably the danger if staying the trip.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT YORK ON SATURDAY EVENING!
York 5.35 Pagan (11/4)
Progressive sort who overcame positional bias to open his account at Pontefract last month, showing a good attitude to edge clear close home; opening mark very fair and likely to take another step forward here so leading claims.
After two very good runs finishing second at Doncaster and then Yarmouth PAGAN improved again to get off the mark at Pontefract last month. He looks on the upgrade now and I think he’ll follow up and make a winning handicap debut here. An opening mark of just 77 looks very fair and he can take full advantage under Jim Crowley. He did really well to get his head in front last time and that suggested a step back up to 7f would be firmly in his favour. I think he has the most potential in this field and I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t go close. Outrun The Storm beat Candescence over C&D earlier this month and looks a threat if he gets a strong pace to aim at. Beloved can also do better so is feared.
