THE US NAP (BEST BET) IS STILL CHASING A DOUBLE! RUNS AT SARATOGA TONIGHT!

Race 10 Saratoga 11.13 Robin Sparkles (1/1)

Progressive filly who has won 5 of her last 6 and really impressed at Belmont last time drawing clear close home; more to come yet and while this represents a step up she certainly has the potential to do even better.

The US NAP was a non runner last night and it won on Thursday so we’re still chasing a double! We head to Saratoga tonight for the Caress Stakes and ROBIN SPARKLES is expected to take a lot of beating. This filly has an impressive record with 6 wins from just 9 starts. She is lightly raced for her age so there could be plenty more to come yet. That last run suggests she is getting better as I loved the way she asserted in the closing stages. This is tougher granted but she is exciting and I think she’ll go in again before potentially going on to even better things. Jakarta is held by the selection on recent form but she could still run a big race. Caravel has won 3 of her last 4 and is feared most.

Race 8 Del Mar 1.36 Smooth Like Strait (5/4)

Tough colt who accounted for Say The Word and Restrainedvengence winning gamely over a mile at Santa Anita when last seen, showing a good turn of foot on the turn for home; hard to oppose off the back of that.

It was hard not to be impressed with the way SMOOTH LIKE STRAIT kicked for home in the Shoemaker last time. He really put distance in between himself and his rivals before holding on well at the finish. Say The Word looks the danger but he just couldn’t live with that turn of foot and I’m anticipating a similar scenario panning out here. Award Winner looks on the up winning his last two but this is tougher with some Grade 1 performers lining up. Count Again has enough to find on recent form. Restrainedvengence stuck to the task but again it’s hard to see him reversing that form or even closing that gap. United ran flat last time and also has enough to prove. Could be a danger if bouncing back.
