THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 2 AT DEL MAR ON FRIDAY NIGHT!

Race 2 Del Mar 12.30 Melting Snow (6/4)

Progressive filly who bolted up over the extended 6f at Churchill Downs when last seen, pulling away impressively late on; won 3 of her last 5 now and scope to do better yet so one to keep firmly on side; should have too much.

Tons of racing to get stuck into Stateside this evening and I know it’s a bit of a wait for our best bet but hopefully worthwhile. We head to Del Mar in the early hours of Saturday morning and MELTING SNOW looks the one to beat. This filly has been going great guns and readily dispatched rivals at Churchill Downs last time. She gets a first look at this track but it should suit and if she reproduces that last run over slightly shorter here she will be too good for these. Trip To Freedom was massively disappointing last time but her win 3 starts back was quite convincing and she may well emerge as the danger if bouncing back here. V Bucks is unexposed so could also run a big race.

Likeable type who closed up in good style to get there late over the extended 5f here last time; denied just a head before that too so form is progressive; more to come back up in trip and looks the one they all have to beat.

We head to Woodbine on Friday night for our second best bet and CANADIAN SECRET looks a good bet to follow up. He showed a good attitude to close up from off the pace and really surged into the lead late to win convincingly by three quarters of a length. Tahana bumped into Victor’s Way when second last time and looks the main danger to the favourite. Mia’s Extrotionist has been running in better races than this but he needs to show more if he is to give the selection a race. Similar comments apply to Robusto who just isn’t running well enough right now to be a danger. Cat’s Whisper was behind Tahana last time and has enough to prove off the back of that to turn the tables tonight.
