Salisbury 4:15 Technique (9/4)

This looks a good renewal of this race which sometimes produces some very good horses to follow at higher levels. Today’s NAP TECHNIQUE ran well in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood over this trip. She is clearly held in high regard as she has been entered/ran in plenty of big races including the Epsom Oaks. The drop into Listed company looks a great chance to get some black type and she will take all the beating.

The main danger in the field could well be Gloria Mundi who didn’t see out the Ribblesdale trip at Ascot and has ran very well at this trip on her only other starts. She should have plenty more to come and could give the NAP something to think about.

Wednesday’s Next Best will be popular after racking up 4 wins in-a-row in handicaps. UNDER CURFEW won his last 4 by fine margins which has helped him not get put up as much in the weights. He is only up 4lbs from his win at Chepstow last month and the way he travels to get up late suggests he could easily make it 5 wins on the trot in what looks a winnable race.

The main danger in the field looks to be Additional who has dropped down the handicap and this is his easiest race for some time. He still has to prove himself at this easier level as he hasn’t won in over a year.
