THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT THISTLEDOWN ON MONDAY NIGHT!

Race 6 Thistledown 8.21 Edge Of Night (11/10)

Useful filly who ran a big race in defeat when beaten less than a length into third over track and trip last month; this easier so she looks to have a big chance of getting her head back in front; hard to oppose.

No joy for the US NAP last night so fingers crossed we can get back on track tonight. We head to Thistledown where EDGE OF NIGHT should prove a tough nut to crack. She really found off the bridle to finish third in a much better race than this last time and if she runs to that level again it should see her come home in front here. Shelley’s Gem has been running consistently well but does need more to beat the selection. Enter Sandwoman is fairly unexposed and would also have to be considered as one of the threats to the favourite. Happy As You Go was beaten 5 lengths last time and will need to better that to land a blow. Clem Gem also hasn’t been showing enough to get involved.

Race 2 Delaware Park 6.45 Tate (7/4)

Built on his reappearance run to finish third over 5f here when last seen; going the right way and gelded since so could bring about further improvement; this looks very winnable so appeals as a worthy favourite.

With our original US NB scratched we have a replacement running in Race 2 at Delaware Park on Monday night. TATE has been gelded since finishing third over 5f here and with more to come now back up to a trip he has won at he looks to have strong claims of coming out on top. This is very winnable so I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t go close. Newyearsblockparty hasn’t been seen for 184 days but won 2 of his first 3 starts so has to be respected and is probably the main danger. Jimmy The Kid is also returning from a layoff for a new barn and has shown ability in the past so could get involved. Hard to see Code Name Brody or My Danny Boy proving good enough on what we’ve seen.
