THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 10 AT SARATOGA ON SATURDAY NIGHT!

Race 10 Saratoga 9.47 Letruska (6/5)

Smart mare who has won 5 of her last 6 and brought up the hat-trick impressively in the Grade 2 Fleur De Lis Stakes at Churchill Downs over this trip last time; proven at this level and clearly the one to beat if in the same form here.

Can’t wait to see LETRUSKA here as she bids to make it 4 Grade 1 victories. She will go forward and it’s hard to see her being pegged back on what we’ve seen recently. Bonny South tried and failed at Belmont and before that Swiss Skydiver could only finish third to her and Monomoy Girl at Oaklawn. Her form stacks up and she looks a class apart. I do think As Time Goes By is better than that last performance and given how lightly raced she is if she can bounce back she might be the value call to chase the selection home (or you could back her without the fav at a decent price). Of the rest Royal Flag is held by Bonny South so has a bit to find. Dunbar Road could run better than her odds suggest.

Race 9 Saratoga 9.12 Life Is Good (11/8)

Unbeaten colt who has looked very promising in all 3 starts to date; really lengthened away from them up to Grade 2 level here when last seen; scope to improve again and deserves a crack in this company now; one to keep on side.

Jackie’s Warrior has been backed into favouritism for this and while he is obviously respected given he is proven at this level the potential LIFE IS GOOD brings to the table has got me excited and he is preferred. He blew them away at Grade 2 level last time and with more to come he can make it a perfect 4-4 at the top level here. He has been given time since that last win and this has clearly been the target for a while from connections. It does look between the front pair and they both like to go forward so it will be interesting to see how it pans out. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the selection take a toe in from the fav before proving the stronger in the closing stages (hopefully anyway).
