Race 9 Philadelphia 9.39 The Critical Way (11/8)

Likeable type who showed a good attitude under pressure again to prevail from The Connector over the extended 5f at Monmouth Park last month, sweeping past them on the turn for home; hard to oppose in current form and hat-trick beckons.

The original NAP was scratched last night and then the NB disappointed so hopefully we can get back on track tonight. We head to Philadelphia for our best bet in the Parx Dash and THE CRITICAL WAY can bring up the hat-trick for Jose Delgado and Paco Lopez. This horse is in cracking form winning 3 of his last 5 starts and impressed again just stalking them through before sweeping past on the turf for home and then holding on well. The Connector battled on bravely in second and might be the one to chase him home again. Firecrow actually beat the selection when last seen 108 days ago at Pimlico but I think that track suited the latter more and he will need to be at his best to confirm that form.

Race 8 Indiana Grand 11.02 Shy Money (13/8)

Progressive filly who has won 4 of her 6 starts to date and while she was denied the four-timer on turf debut over track and trip last time she did too much early and was just picked off late; likely to improve again and should win this.

I think under more patient tactics SHY MONEY may have even won last time. She pressed the pace and got racing too soon and was just left a bit vulnerable in the closing stages. She was only beaten a length at the line and with that experience going to good use she can regain the winning groove here. Her overall profile now reads 4 wins from 6 starts and she is clearly trending the right way. Show Me The Best is likely to take them along and she should get a nice toe in before pouncing late. Serena Beck is probably the main danger to the selection as her form reads well and like the fav probably has more to offer. Inspiring is lightly raced and might be value to hit the frame if things fall right.
