NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT NEWCASTLE ON FRIDAY!
Newcastle 4.55 Dusky Lord (1/1)
Progressive sort who shaped with promise on debut but took a big step forward on reappearance at Brighton, travelling up strongly before running on well to quickly find himself clear; sure to improve and hard to oppose.
The NAP landed again yesterday as Neenee’s Choice won well at Salisbury. We head to Newcastle on Friday for the hat-trick and the likeable DUSKY LORD looks firmly on the upgrade. He won impressively at Brighton on return and looks sure to improve for that. He is a strong looking sort who has potential to rate a lot higher. Twilight Secret ran well on first two starts but did disappoint at Bath last time so comes here with enough to prove off the back of that. Miss Behaving showed ability on debut when fourth at Doncaster but will need to step forward a fair bit to trouble the front pair here. Of the rest Tantastic looks exposed in comparison and the other two are likely to need it.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS OVER AT ASCOT ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON!
Ascot 3.05 Love Is Golden (6/4)
Golden Horn colt who impressed coming from off the pace to win well at Chester last month; backed that up bumping into a nice prospect at Hamilton last time with the front pair clear and the field strung out; sure to go well.
Getting weight all round I think LOVE IS GOLDEN can return to winning ways here. This colt by Golden Horn was back to winning ways at Chester last month and backed that up finishing second to a nice horse in Mahrajaan, clear from the rest, at Hamilton latest. He still has potential to do better off his current mark and I think he is well placed to take advantage here. He doesn’t lack early boot so it won’t surprise me if SDS is positive on him. Sir Michael Stoute won this last year with Laafy so My Frankel might emerge as the main danger. He ran in a competitive race at York last time and wasn’t beaten far. Down 2lb so should get competitive. Recovery Run is also noted if bouncing back.
