NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) LANDED YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT SALISBURY ON FRIDAY!
Salisbury 6.15 Berkshire Rocco (5/6)
Smart colt who chased home Galileo Chrome when second in the St Leger and rounded off last campaign with a Listed win at Ascot; ran well when second in Doha on return in February; hard to oppose on all known form.
The NAP was back in the winners enclosure on Thursday so hopefully we can add another winner before we head into the weekend. Classy colt BERKSHIRE ROCCO catches the eye at Salisbury tonight. He was last seen staying on well for second over a mile and a half in Doha in February and on all known form he is going to be hard to beat here. Fitness is taken on trust and if he gives his running quite simply he’ll have too much. Quickthorn was a very good second in the Ebor 3 weeks ago and looks the obvious danger. Here And Now was last seen winning at Wolverhampton in October so is entitled to come on for the run. C’Est No Mour sparkles again last time but this is much tougher on paper.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS OVER AT DONCASTER ON FRIDAY!
Doncaster 2.10 Armor (13/8)
No Nay Never colt who ran a cracker in the Windsor Castle and improved again to win at Goodwood in July; ran creditably in the Prix Morny last time and this easier so good chance he gets back in the winners enclosure here.
Back down to 5f I think we’ll see the best of ARMOR here. He was only beaten a couple of lengths in Group 1 company in France last month and this is much easier in comparison. His win at Goodwood was impressive and he sets a clear form standard here. With the promise of more to come he is taken to come out on top. The Organiser won impressively at York on debut and has shaped well since better than the bare result in the Coventry and July Stakes before beaten just a head at Salisbury. He looks the most obvious danger to the selection but will need to improve and I’m not sure he is crying out for a drop back to the minimum. Chipotle has a squeak but needs to bounce back.
