Race 6 Louisiana Downs 10.55 Reason To Soar (4/5)
Smart type who pulled away to win over the extended 5f here last month, well on top at the finish to win by 3 lengths at the line; won 3 of her last 4 now so obvious claims of going in again if repeating that form.
The US NAP is chasing a hat-trick on Sunday night as we head to Louisiana Downs for our best bet. REASON TO SOAR impressed last time and given that was his first run for 92 days he is entitled to strip fitter for the outing. He has won 3 of his last 4 now and is in a rich vein of form right now. This is no tougher so he should have too much for them in the closing stages. He goes back up in trip but has won over this distance so it holds no fears. Dream Halo won by 7 lengths last time and he is the obvious danger to the selection. He likes to close from off the pace though so the fav will get first run and I don’t think he’ll be able to peg him back. He is back half a furlong in trip which might make the difference.

Race 8 Woodbine 10.01 Gretzky The Great (7/4)
Promising colt who improved a chunk to make a winning return showing a great attitude to prevail by a head over 7f here last month; fitter now and open to further improvement back up to a mile so has plenty going for him.
I really like GRETZKY THE GREAT at Woodbine tonight. I thought he’d be shorter than 7/4 so he looks a great bet at the time of writing. He showed a great attitude to prevail by a narrow margin on return over 7f here last month and with scope to progress further back up to a mile he looks to have been found a good opportunity to follow up. He will race on the pace and with plenty of closers in here he might just slip this field. The only competition I really see for the lead is from Barnegat Light and on the clock he should be too quick for him anyway. Riptide Rock is probably the danger but he might just get too far back to land a blow. Artie’s Storm was third to the fav last time so also has a squeak.
