Ayr 1.50

Hard to look past Dark Angel colt OUTBREAK in the opener at Ayr on Thursday. This horse was a big eye-catcher on debut going down just half a length and he quickly improved to thrash the opposition by 5 lengths at Salisbury. That form looks pretty solid and with more to come he is going to be hard to peg back here. He does have to give weight away all round but he is the only winner in the field and has plenty in his favour as the odds are suggesting.

Gorak left his debut run behind to finish second at Hamilton last time and is also open to further improvement so could be the danger. Teddy’s Profit has also shown promise and won’t be far away either if coming forward again.

Outbreak 4/7

Ayr 2.25

This is wide open and I’m going to chance one at a price in here in the shape of DARVEL for Kevin Ryan. This horse won on his only visit to this track as a 2yo and while he hasn’t visited the winners enclosure since he did run much better when third at Carlisle last month. He is down a further 1lb for that and if he can settle better he will give himself a better chance of seeing his race out. The winner Poet’s Magic is likely to go well again but he has an 8lb swing in the weights and that could take it’s toll.

Outrun The Storm is certainly worth a mention as he has also won at this track before. He was back to winning ways on penultimate start at York and ran well when third to Northern Express last time and is 5lb better off with that rival.

Ayr 3.00

There’s a good chance IRREVERENT can follow up here. He made all impressively at Thirsk on Monday and turned out quickly if he’s in the same form he will take a lot of reeling in under a penalty. He is still well treated on his old form and as long as he doesn’t face too much early pressure from Ventura Rascal and Mi Capricho this could go his way again. The money is already coming for him and he could go off a well backed favourite.

Empirestateofmind is on a hat-trick having thrived in the blinkers of late. He is up 6lb though and will find this more testing. Jewel Maker is lightly raced and caught the eye when fourth at Carlisle on return so could build on that and be a danger here.

Ayr 3.00

Irreverent 7/2

Ayr 3.35

I know BRINGITONBORIS doesn’t always back up performances but when he is good he is quite talented and this looks very winnable. He has gradually improved with each run since that wind op and went down less than 2 lengths at Newcastle last time. He is knocking on the door now and I think this looks a good opportunity and at a decent each way price. Hopefully he isn’t given too much to do and can swoop late.

Daniel Deronda was a good second to Mossbawn beaten just a neck at Thirsk last time and would be a threat if backing that up here. Invincibly was beaten a length by Tadreeb at Haydock and also has to enter calculations on that sort of form.

Ayr 4.10

Alyara ran out an impressive winner at Carlisle last time having caught the eye at Nottingham. She is certainly bred to be pretty useful so it will be interesting to see if she can build on that. She is certainly respected up 4lb but I think MY LITTLE QUEENS might upset the party. This Mastercraftsman filly improved to land back-to-back wins at Musselburgh and Hamilton before being given a bit of a shocker in the hat-trick bid at Newcastle last time. She was given way too much to do and could get back on track here.

Bollin Margaret rattled off a hat-trick in the summer and has run well the last twice. She chased home the improving Strawman on penultimate start and then wasn’t disgraced at Haydock on Sunday. She could easily be the danger. Celtic Empress also noted if bouncing back.

Ayr 4.45

This is a tough race to work out and a tentative vote goes to FAIRMAC for Mark Johnston. This son of Lethal Force beat the thriving Miramichi on penultimate start and acquitted himself well in defeat when third to Yorkshire Lady at Haydock on Sunday. He is turned out quickly again but is clearly thriving on his racing and another big run certainly wouldn’t surprise in a race like this. He will be ridden prominently and should have every chance.

Cockalorum has won twice this year and ran well again when third at York last time. Looks sure to give his running so is one of the obvious dangers. Platinumcard saw his winning run come to an end last time but it would be no surprise to see him bounce back here so he is also respected.

Ayr 5.18

With 2 wins from his last 4 starts VALUE TIP can go in again at Ayr on Thursday. He left previous form behind to strike over C&D in July, running on well to lead inside the final furlong. He was given a bit too much to do at Musselburgh where he made good headway from well off the pace beaten just 2 lengths into third. He then probably just raced a bit too keenly when beaten less than a length over track and trip last month but that form has worked out notably well since with the third Glorious Rio winning his next three starts and even the fourth The Gloaming going close since. He was much the best last time and was going away at the line. That was a career best and up 7lb he doesn’t look done improving yet. This is competitive but with more to come he looks worth chancing at the odds.

Triple Jaye is chasing a four-timer and looks the threat carrying a penalty. Yukon Mission will also be a danger if they go hard from the off.

Ayr 5.50

The way ECLIPSE DE LUNAR won on penultimate start at Catterick was quite impressive and he just didn’t give his running when nearer last than first at the same venue last month. Given a bit of time since and back slightly in trip it wouldn’t surprise me to see him back on track here. He remains unexposed especially over this trip and he makes more appeal than most in here.

Wor Willie is fav afer a career best last time but he is up 5lb and pitched into a better race now so this won’t be easy. Graces Quest won a seller at Musselburgh last time but the handicapper has given her a chance so she could be best of the rest. Tendentious is one of the dark horses on handicap debut and could also surprise so keep an eye on the market.
