Fontwell 3.55 Mister Tickle (6/5)
Came to life in the blinkers the last twice winning impressively over fences at Newton Abbot and then following up over C&D last time, jumping well and staying on strongly; further 3lb rise shouldn’t prevent the hat-trick.
Another small field for MISTER TICKLE and I don’t see anything well handicapped enough to stop him bringing up the hat-trick. He has thrived since the blinkers went on and if he jumps like he did last time he should have too much for these again despite another small rise in the weights. Sandy Boy was finally back in the winners enclosure at Worcester on penultimate start but failed to back that up next time and even after a freshen up I don’t see him upsetting this favourite. Marble Moon capitalised on a reduced mark at Ffos Las but has been thrashed in 3 starts since and also has enough to prove. Bonanza Sam is also looking for a revival and so is Aubusson who pulled up last time.
Ascot 4.50 Sunray Major (7/4)
Dubawi colt who is a half-brother to Kingman and overcame a lengthy absence to make it 2 wins from 3 starts at Chelmsford just over a fortnight ago; sure to keep improving and while this is tougher he could be a nice prospect.
Looking forward to seeing Kingman’s half-brother SUNRAY MAJOR at Ascot on Friday. This colt impressed making a winning return at Chelmsford last month, quickening clear to score by 4 lengths at the line. He makes his handicap debut now in a competitive race but is open to further improvement and could be one to follow. Top Secret loves this C&D and won’t go down without a fight but he lacks the potential the favourite brings to the table and might just struggle to live with his turn of foot. Able Kane proved better than ever winning at Doncaster 3 weeks ago and also has to enter calculations if seeing out the 7f trip. Marshal Dan is the pace angle but is unlikely to have it his own way like at Sandown.
