THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 8 AT KEENELAND ON SUNDAY NIGHT!

Race 8 Keeneland 9.44 Averly Jane (10/11)

Exciting filly who is a perfect 3-3 and won impressively again at Saratoga over this trip last time; open to further improvement now switched to turf and can win this before going on to better things; looks one to keep firmly on side.

I think it’s safe to say Wesley Ward holds all the aces here with the top 2 in the market. I’m really keen on the unbeaten AVERLY JANE with Tyler Gaffalione in the saddle. This filly by Midshipman has looked hugely promising in 3 starts to date and switching to turf for the first time she could improve again. She has early speed which should get a lot of these in trouble and she can sustain it easily through the line. With more to come I can’t look past her. Her stablemate Kaufymaker made a really taking start bolting up on debut but has been held twice since. She still has potential so it really wouldn’t surprise me if it was a 1-2 for the stable. Michael Maker has Sonnyisnotsofunny as his main hope. Best of the rest.

Race 9 Woodbine 10.09 Skygaze (10/11)

Progressive filly who has won 4 of her last 5 and was particularly convincing over track and trip last month, readily reversing that previous form with Crystal Glacier; can improve again and if she does she will have these in trouble.

I’m looking forward to seeing SKYGAZE back out at Woodbine tonight. This filly looks to be going from strength-to-strength and I loved the way she did it last time. A repeat of that would see her beat Crystal Glacier again and probably win this as the latter would have to be the main danger. She was given quite a lot to do last time and could just never bridge the gap. Similar scenario might play out but she still has to be feared as she remains unexposed. Art Of Almost beat Afleet Katherine on penultimate start before struggling against the top 2 in the market last time. Can’t really see how she can reverse that form or even close the gap as they are both still improving. Great chance for the selection.
