THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 4 AT SANTA ANITA ON FRIDAY NIGHT!

Race 4 Santa Anita 10.35 Messier (10/11)

Promising colt who showed clear signs of inexperience before running on well for second on debut, beaten just a length; expected to be a lot sharper now and the extra furlong also going to help him so leading claims now.

Without winning MESSIER couldn’t really have done much more on debut. The winner Olympic Legend looks a nice horse and he was running on well to finish second, beaten just a length. He was very raw and taken off his feet to some extent early. He knuckled down well when asked and switched to the inside looking a bit green eventually ran on well. He will know a lot more now and with this step up to 6f looking ideal I think he’ll take all the beating. Debutant Blackadder has been working well apparently so he may well end up emerging as the danger. Cover Me Up didn’t shown much on debut so is going to need to put that experience to go use to get competitive this evening.

Race 7 Keeneland 9.12 Goodnight Olive (11/10)

Improving filly who coped well with a bunched start on debut eventually seeing daylight up the inside to run on well for a good second, with the penny dropping again late; sure to know more now so big chance here.

This looks a great chance for GOODNIGHT OLIVE to go one better. She ran a cracker on debut sticking to the task all the way to the line and clear from the rest. She is only going to improve from that initial experience and I think she’ll prove too classy for this bunch. Man Luv is the danger but she is exposed in comparison to the selection so if she improves she is going to struggle to contain her. Bahama Mischief has bits and pieces of form that would give her a chance here but again she faded late last time so needs this drop back in trip to help otherwise she is struggling. Fits The Jill could go well on debut and might be a bit overpriced in here but obviously will be better for the outing.
