Cork 12.40

This looks a wide open race with not many standouts with plenty of these having had a lot of chances already. One of the most exciting horses in the field is CROWNS MAJOR who won a National Hunt Flat Race before running on the Flat with a fair bit of success. He is now rated 97 on the Flat which bodes well for his potential hurdle mark. If he is as good as his potential suggests he will go very close in a winnable race.

Mosala ran well when last seen on the Flat and I guess he is the dark horse in the race and there has been money for him this morning so it wouldn’t surprise me if he emerged as the danger under Rachael Blackmore. Gift Of Kings also deserves a second look.

I’m expecting JEREMYS JEWEL to prove hard to beat here. She landed back-to-back bumpers at Wexford and Killarney and then ran a big race going down just a head on hurdles debut at Fairyhouse last month. The winner Glan looks a nice sort and I know she was beaten at Down Royal but that looked quite a warm race and she certainly wasn’t disgraced in third. The selection sets the standard and can improve so will be hard to beat here.

Memorable Daise ran well enough when sixth to Quiet Escape in Listed company at Gowran and should appreciate this step up in trip so looks one of the obvious dangers. Manisanda ran in Grade 3 company at Punchestown and she’ll find this easier so also enters calculations.

Cork 1.50

A very competitive Novice Hurdle with a few of these looking to have plenty of potential. MR JOSIEY WALES had good point to point form ahead of Boothill in 2019 before improving for the run in April to run out an easy 12 length winner over course and distance. He could really be anything based on that run and with his ability to see out the trip well he should go close if near full fitness.

Ballywilliam Boy has the form in the book and would be the main danger but has to prove himself over 3 miles. Of the rest Sweet Sweet would need to improve to win this but stays well and could have a good each way chance.

Cork 2.25

This is a good novice chase but I’m keen to side with NOTEBOOK for Emmet Mullins. This horse won by 6 lengths at Punchestown and I know the race rather was handed to him with Ballyadam falling at the first but he looked to learn on the job before asserting in good style. The experience would have done him good and if he can jump slicker here he should put these to the sword.

Noble Yeats impressed making a winning start at Galway and it wouldn’t surprise me if he was the biggest danger. French Dynamite looks a chaser in the making so I expect him to go well too but he lacks experience of the two mentioned above and should come on for this. Bleu Berry won easily at Listowel and comes here in good form so shouldn’t be entirely ruled out either in a good race.

Cork 3.00

Relatievely small field for this with just 12 set to go to post. This race usually favours horses carrying under 11 stone with SPADES ARE TRUMPS looking to have a good chance to make it back-to-back wins. He won easily at Kilbeggan in a weaker race than this but that was visually very impressive and I think he could have more to come. He is only up 3lb for that easy win and will be competitive in what is a tough race.

Mister Fogpatches is the main danger despite carrying 11 stone 8 as he is one of the most in-form horses in the field and stays all day. Of the rest Screaming Colours could run a big race even at the age of 10. Russian Diamond goes up in trip and must also enter calculations.

Cork 3.30

A fiercely competitive handicap and it won’t surprise you that I’ve taken two against the field. My main play in the race is ROMELLA as she attempts to land a four-timer! She comes here at the top of her game and impressed again at Punchestown last time staying on strongly. Another 8lb rise obviously asks for more but I still think she has a bit in the locker and at 5/1 she looks a great each way play.

At a bigger price CAPTURE THE ACTION is worth including. She went down just a length and a quarter when second at Tramore and if she builds on that off just 2lb higher she could definitely get involved at a big price. Obviously plenty of dangers which include Rock On Seamie who ran right up to form when second to Mars Harper last time. General Clermont is also feared off the back of a good run at Killarney.

Cork 4.05

We don’t know much about most of these so you can see why AGRITIME is likely to go off a very short priced favourite. He won easily earlier in the month and will likely go very well again even with a penalty. Willie Mullins has won the majority of the renewals of this race and will likely add another. This mare is likely to improve and should take all the beating.

It is hard to find the main danger so I would keep an eye on the market in this especially the newcomers. Reine Machine might also be worth a second look with Jamie Codd booked but only in the without market.
