NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT CHEPSTOW ON WEDNESDAY!
Chepstow 3.00 Brave Kingdom (13/8)
Made every yard a winning one on debut for Harry Whittington in a bumper at Fontwell back in February; travelled strongly that day and always looked in command; joined Paul Nicholls now and had a wind op; good prospect to go hurdling.
It was hard not to be taken by the way BRAVE KINGDOM won his debut and that visual impression was backed up by the clock. He should improve now tackling obstacles and I think he is a potentially exciting recruit to go hurdling for Paul Nicholls. I’m expecting Gavin Sheehan to be positive on him and he could take a fair bit of pegging back. Mumbo Jumbo shaped with promise in a bumper on debut at Newbury and should step forward from that now hurdling so looks the most obvious danger for Emma Lavelle. Camdonian is well related and makes his debut for Dan Skelton but should come on for the run. Coachman won an Irish point and cost a fair bit so should also have a future.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS ON THE AW AT KEMPTON ON WEDNESDAY!
Kempton 5.15 Capote’s Dream (9/2)
Progressive sort who came there still travelling strongly to edge out Mr Wagyu at York back in July; backed that up to prevail at Windsor when last seen; given time since and 4lb higher but more to come so hat-trick beckons.
We’ve been with CAPOTE’S DREAM the last twice and I’m keen to keep him on side again at Kempton on Wednesday night. He has won fresh before and there is potential for him to improve again so I think the hat-trick beckons here. This is a good race but the form of his last two wins look really solid so he is worth backing to visit the winners enclosure once more. Mighty Gurkha is a very decent yardstick and I expect him to keep the selection honest now dropping into handicap company. Huraiz shaped better than he has been when third at Chelmsford and is definitely worth a second look. Marks Bear was also going the right way when last seen but reportedly bled when disappointing at Lingfield.
