Dundalk 3.30

Tricky start to the evening so I’ve taken two against the field. I like ART OF UNITY for trainer John Feane. This chestnut won here as a 2yo and was back to his best in August landing back-to-back wins at the Curragh and Navan. He has been well held the last twice but off an unchanged mark in an easier race it wouldn’t surprise me if he goes close under a 7lb claimer.

At a bigger price I’m going to have an each way saver on CAESAR’S COMET as well. I thought this son of Acclamation was a good fourth to Drombeg Duke over 7f here last month and if you look at his last four runs he has been beaten narrowly on each occasion so his turn could be near. If he handles the drop back to 6f he will go close as well. No Speed Limit and Rocky Dreams head the dangers.

Dundalk 4.00

This looks like a pretty weak race with not many of these with form to shout about. SANGRIA gets the marginal vote after a solid effort at the track last time. That was after a short break and she will be better for that run. She handles the surface and I would expect her to be bang there in a poor race under a handy 5lb claimer. There’s plenty of pace on so hopefully she gets a good toe in from her low draw.

JEDI POWER is the other one that appeals on potential with a couple of fair efforts and could be a different prospect now in handicaps and would be the danger to the selection. Satin Snake should appreciate this drop back in trip and is open to further improvement so should also threaten. Pandemic Princess was a creditable fourth last time and will enjoy going back up to 6f tonight.

Dundalk 4.30

Just the 7 horses heading to post now but I’m still going to take two against the field with my main play MOSHAMMER after a promising initial effort when fourth here over 6f on debut. He was beaten 4 lengths but still clocked quite a good time and if he improves which he should he will take a bit of beating here. I’d have him favourite over Faron at the time of writing. The latter has more experience but was disappointing last time.

I also thought COLLECTIVE POWER was worth a chance. Annoyingly Orionid has come out now so just the 2 places up for grabs but even still worth a small saver. This son of Slade Power remains a maiden but ran better last time given a bit too much to do. Could build on that and get involved. Dangers include Zurkhana who caught the eye on debut and Eloso who is capable of a good run but perhaps will still come up short.

Dundalk 5.00

This looks a fairly competitive handicap with SPILT PASSION looking like the one to beat. She ran a big race in a maiden over course and distance to lose out by a head. She likely has more to come on this surface and off a mark of 73 she will go well on Wednesday. The market is being a bit lukewarm on her chances but I think she’s pretty solid so I’m not letting that put me off.

Timourid produced a much better performance last time at the track over a mile and if showing the same sort of form at this shorter trip he will be a threat to all of these. Resourceful Man won here in September and was a good fourth last time so also has to enter calculations in an open race.

Dundalk 5.30

Mehmas filly Clatter Bang is the one to beat here and she will go well but I think she’s a bit short in the betting so I’m taking a chance on BOASTY at an attractive each way price. This son of Sir Prancealot has been kept busy but he continues to run well finishing a close fourth over C&D on return from as short break in September and again ran well filling the same position last time. If he can find some small improvement he will be right in the shake-up.

Darkened has just 1 win from 26 starts but was a good third over C&D last time having conceded first run so might get involved again. At a bigger price Indiana Grey has won here before and has the ability to get competitive in a race like this.

Dundalk 6.00

This looks a good race with plenty of these in good form including the favourite at the time of writing INTERNATIONAL LADY. She was beaten by a short head by the re-opposing Dreams Delivered over course and distance last week but gets a 6lb swing at the weights this time. The majority of her best form is over course and distance and off of just 63 she will be the one they all have to beat.

Dreams Delivered could go well again but hasn’t run well previously off of marks in the low 60s. The main danger for me is Royal Scholar who won over course and distance earlier last month and could have more to come.

Dundalk 6.30

I thought there was a lot to like about the way MOKHLES won over C&D in August. He was held up off the pace but was always moving well and made good headway before taking it up and asserting in good style. He has been beaten twice since but by just a length on both occasions and I still think he has scope off his current handicap mark of 62 so all looks set for another big run tonight. Hopefully Power Drive puts good pace to the race as an end-to-end gallop will suit.

She’s Good Company looks the danger. She impressed getting her head in front at Clonmel in September and was back to form when fourth at Gowran last time. If she builds on that again she will get involved and could be dangerous. Knock Flyer goes back up in trip and is also worth a second look.

Dundalk 7.00

This is a trappy race to say the least with ROCKVIEW ROMAN getting a tentative vote. He is a previous course and distance winner who shows his best form on this surface. His run over the extra 2 furlongs last week was a good effort and back down to this trip he should go well. If running to the level he did here in July to finish second he would win this weak affair.

Pro Bono is the danger after coming back from a break to run 2 lengths behind the winner here last month. If finding a bit more for that run he could be in the mix. Gamigin has been the market mover this morning but I’m struggling to be over positive about his chances even if he is back down in trip.
