NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WAS BACK TO WINNING WAYS YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT WINCANTON ON SATURDAY!
Wincanton 3.35 Sceau Royal (11/8)
Classy sort who made a likeable return winning easily at Kempton last month, always shaping as the winner; won this impressively last year and comes here at the top of his game so hard to get away from; should win.
I don’t think connections were really expecting SCEAU ROYAL to win at Kempton on return. Silver Streak didn’t really convince so perhaps he was somewhat gifted the race but even still that would have left him spot on for this now and he should take all the beating. He thrashed them in this last year and I think it could be a similar story again. Goshen is the biggest danger in the betting but the truth is he hasn’t been at his best since unseating Jamie Moore in the Triumph and he has enough to prove on his return. Belfast Banter won at Cheltenham and Aintree but has enough to find with the selection. Goshen and Teqany could take each other on so this could pan out perfectly for the fav.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS OVER IN IRELAND AT NAAS ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON!
Naas 12.50 Quilixios (13/8)
Quickened away to win the Triumph at Cheltenham last year and while he disappointed at Punchestown the yard were struggling at the time and looks best forgiven; goes very well fresh and if back to his best should win this comfortably.
I’m still expecting big things from QUILIXIOS this season so hopefully he can make a winning return here. The way he won the Triumph was so impressive and I rate the second Adagio who has franked the form to some extent chasing home Monmiral at Aintree next time. I know he disappointed at Punchestown but he never really travelled that day so it’s worth forgiving him that. He has potential to do really well this season and he can get back on track here. Jeff Kidder has been struggling somewhat on the Flat recently but would be a danger if back to form over hurdles. I’m not massively convinced. Teahupoo may pose a greater threat as he looks capable of better after just 4 runs over hurdles.
