NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS OVER JUMPS AT EXETER ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!

Exeter 1.00 Gosheven (10/11)

Lightly raced for his age and impressed winning well over this trip over hurdles at Doncaster last year; strong staying type who should relish the switch to chasing now and with more to come should have too much for these.

With Oscars Moonshine now a non runner this looks a great opportunity for GOSHEVEN to make a winning chase debut. This son of Presenting has always looked like he’d improve for a fence and given how lightly raced the best is likely yet to come. I thought he’d be shorter than 10/11 so I’m keen to get stuck in. Beatthebullet now emerges as the danger. He is also likely to take well to this discipline given he has plenty of experience in point-to-points. I think he lacks the potential the fav brings to the table though. Tight Call went off the boil over hurdles when last seen and needs this switch to chasing to bring about some improvement if he is to land a blow in this race.

NAP

Exeter 1.00 Gosheven (10/11)

Navan 3.20 Cayd Boy (13/8)

Likeable type who did well over hurdles and made a bright start over fences going down just a length at Wexford last month with the front 3 miles clear; finished a head in front of main market rival Mt Leinster on that occasion.

No a lot separates CAYD BOY and Mt Leinster on that Wexford run but with this extra furlong likely to suit the former he gets the vote. I thought he shaped as though he’d come on for the run on that occasion and given Mt Leinster can make the odd mistake or two I think he will beat him comfortably here. He is likely to get a nice toe into the race and I think he’ll be finishing the stronger. Mark Walsh is riding really well at the moment so I think he will give him a confident ride. Bar those two Kapard is also worth a mention as she should have a future over fences as well. We haven’t seen her for 286 days though so she is entitled to come on for the run but still worth keeping an eye on her.
