THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT WOLVERHAMPTON ON MONDAY EVENING!

Wolverhampton 5.00 Night On Earth (4/5)

Progressive type who has won 2 of his last 4 and impressed striking at just the second time of asking for this yard at Newcastle last time; 3lb rise won’t be enough to anchor him and this looks a great opportunity to follow up.

The Horse Watchers look to have another nice horse on their hands potentially in the shape of the improving NIGHT ON EARTH for Mick Appleby. This son of Kodiac recorded his first win on the AW at Newcastle earlier this month and crossed the line with enough to spare to suggest a 3lb rise won’t stop him following up. Just the 4 runners head to post and he looks by far and away the most likely winner with the in-form Jason Watson booked for the ride. Marnie James is a fair yardstick but has failed to get his head in front dating back to 2018 and while he was a good third to Mondammej over track and trip last week he definitely needs more. Both Zapper Cass and Scale Force have enough to prove.

NAP

Wolverhampton 5.00 Night On Earth (4/5)

Kempton 4.10 Scarborough Castle (2/1)

Likeable type who arrives here chasing a hat-trick after showing a good attitude to get up late at Wolverhampton on return last month and then always getting there last time with front pair clear; up 6lb but can do better again back up to this trip.

The way SCARBOROUGH CASTLE has been winning lately suggests this step back up to a mile and a half is going to really suit so despite a 6lb rise I think he can complete the hat-trick. He is a hard horse for the handicapper to punish as he only ever seems to do just enough and if he gets a good pace to run down again here he should have too many gears in the closing stages. Blazer Two went down just a length at Wolverhampton over this trip last time and has been knocking on the door so looks the main danger. Schwartz is the dark horse in the race having failed to show much in 3 starts to date but going up in trip for handicap debut there is some reasoning to think he will step forward from those runs.
