Uttoxeter 12.00
This looks a fairly open novice event with plenty of these likely to improve with experience and fitness. The best bit of form on offer is GET A TONIC’s maiden win where she romped home by over 7 lengths. She stepped forward a lot from her seasonal debut and if she improves again she will take all the beating here. She has been really strong in the betting this morning so looks likely to go off a short priced favourite.
Tigerbythetail is the main danger after making his seasonal/hurdling debut in a good race at Aintree last month. He finished fourth and will be much better for the run. Blairgowrie from the Henderson yard could well be a lot better for the run at Sandown last month and should be in the mix.
Uttoxeter 12.30
Initially Angel Of Harlem was really well backed for this but I couldn’t really see that angle. Since last night all the money has been for Quick Draw and I’d make him the main danger but I think MR WASHINGTON could be the value play here. He won four times over hurdles last winter and resumed with a victory at Chepstow last month. This is competitive but he is clearly in great form again and should run a big race.
Quick Draw impressed here last time but he isn’t the most straightforward so there may be some chinks in his armour. Be My Sea could also be dangerous if going off the front and getting a soft time of it. I do think this is more open than the betting is suggesting so tread carefully.
Uttoxeter 1.00
This doesn’t look a deep race and it could we be an ideal opportunity for NOTEBOOK to make it 2 from 2 since joining the Skelton yard. She won easily on handicap debut and you would expect she has plenty more to come. She was only raised 6lb for a comfortable win and if in the same form is the one to beat.
Fashion Nova has shown glimpses of good form and we should see the best of her on her second run after a wind-op. At a bigger price Flintara could bounce back after running over fences last time out.
Uttoxeter 1.30
Call Me Lord is almost favourite by default here given he won twice in graded company as a hurdler. He should take to this discipline so has to be respected but he is short enough. I like the chances of MASTER DEBONAIR now with Harry Fry. He shaped with potential when third to Eden Du Houx at Ffos Las last month and that’s a strong piece of form so if he improves I can see him being a danger to all despite being 3lb out the weights.
Ballybegg has been the gamble of the race but was pulled up on chase bow at Carlisle and has enough to prove – also 5lb out the weights. Sail Away was second over fences at Aintree and is another one to consider in an open race.
Uttoxeter 2.00
Another handicap that lacks depth but it has a couple of interesting contenders. ALBORKAN looks to be on a good mark after two okay runs in handicaps. He has now been dropped to 113 which I think he is capable of winning off and the change of headgear may bring out a bit more improvement from him. In a race of this quality he should go very close and at a decent price.
Kalzari looks the danger on handicap debut after running well in third on her debut for David Pipe and based on her French form she could be smart. Captain Moirette is also worth a second look.
Uttoxeter 2.30
There is no doubt they are coming for Mille Sussurri here but the one I like is CLONDAW PROMISE for Jonjo O’Neill. The cheekpieces helped him when second on chase debut here and he built on that to win with plenty to spare at Lingfield. He has more to offer so I’m surprised he is weak in the market and out to 5/1 at the time of writing. I can see him bang there so he looks an each way bet to nothing.
Red Lion Lad was an expensive buy and I get the impression they feel he hasn’t produced what they thought he would on the track. He is being backed again and the step up in trip will suit now chasing but I still have my reservations.
Uttoxeter 3.00
This looks like a good maiden hurdle with the top 3 in the market potentially above average. After watching COUSU MAIN hurdling debut it was clear to see the wind-op had brought out plenty of improvement. He was travelling well 2 out when he fell and with a clear round of jumping is the one they have to beat based on the way he travelled.
There are two big dangers in Full Of Light and Wolfspear who both won national hunt flat races and look to have plenty of potential. Full Of Light has the fitness edge so may fair better of those two here.
Uttoxeter 3.30
Nurse Susan looks a lovely prospect for Dan Skelton so while connections might have expected a bit more from HIDOR DE BERSY on hurdles debut that run has already been boosted with the winner going in again since. He is sure to improve from that and this looks a good opportunity to go one better with nothing of that calibre of horse in here.
Anyharminasking stepped forward to go down just a length at Worcester but that form has been let down since so he’s going to need to find more to beat the favourite. Crypto Currency also showed promise at Sandown but might need more time and experience and this could be quite a strong race with the front two looking to have bright futures.
