Ayr 12.30

This looks a good maiden on paper but I’m keen to side with NOTEBOOK after a very good hurdles debut on his first run of the season. He had good national hunt flat form and is better than what he showed pitched into graded company at Aintree. He will likely step forward now fitter and is the one to beat.

Parisencore is the main danger after two seconds on both of his hurdle starts and will surely go close based on that form but may find 1 too good. Ballycoose won his only start so far and has to be respected here but may need to prove his fitness first after 232 days off track.

Ayr 1.05

Serious Ego ran well back from 7 months off to finish second at Hexham last month. He was beaten 14 lengths though and I think he’ll need more to win this. I prefer FOSTER’SISLAND for Micky Hammond. He is chasing a hat-trick after impressing again last time. He is up 7lb but did it with enough to spare last time so looks worth chancing again at generous odds of 5/1 at the time of writing.

Bigbadmattie has won 2 of his last 3 and did it readily last time. He is up 13lb though and that looks a tad harsh on debut for James Ewart. Blow By Blow is quite a big price and might outrun his odds to hit the frame.

Ayr 1.40

Another fairly open race with BILL BAXTER looking like the best bet in the field. He won nicely over course and distance last month and if in the same form he will have a great chance of repeating it. He has a penalty to carry for that win but has a 7lb claimer to ease that burden and will be tough to beat.

Nells Son is the danger after winning his last 3 under rules and like the selection carries a penalty. He steps up in trip so it will be interesting to see if it suits him or not. Half Track is unexposed and was staying on behind the fav last time so also has to enter calculations but I just think he’ll need more time to be seen to best effect.

Ayr 2.15

I have this between Killane and CANCAN and I’m going to side with the latter. The money was down over C&D last time and it was good to see her drop her head better. She saw the race out well and can build on that encouraging performance. This is probably tougher in a handicap now but she still gets the vote with confidence high. There is a fair bit of pace on but she should race fairly prominently and it may help her get a good toe in.

Spark Of Madness justified good support to also win over C&D last time and the riders claim can come in handy here so he has a big chance. Of the rest Ardera Cross shouldn’t be overlooked from a reduced mark back over hurdles.

Ayr 2.45

This handicap chase looks a fairly deep affair but it is hard not to like the form of JUGE ET PARTI who has been so consistent over fences. He was last seen finishing third at Carlisle after winning his last two over fences. He is back in trip for this and it could easily see him add another win to this seasons tally.

Shanroe Al C and Scoop The Pot both won last time out and are live dangers but do have penalties to contend with. Behindthelines has been dropped in the handicap and could be right in the mix here based on the quality go his last run.

Ayr 3.15

Hopefully Olly Murphy can bookend the card with LINELEE KING here. He stayed on well to make a winning start over fences at Aintree last month and with potential for better he can make it 2-2 in this sphere. He was always handy last time and jumped well in the main. He should improve from that initial effort and will be fitter as well so good chance to follow up.

Royal Arcade was never really going the pace to challenge last time and should better that here. Still looks to have enough to find to upset the jolly. Heartbreak Kid is the outsider of the four but shouldn’t be underestimated.
