Race 10 Gulfstream Park 9.32 Never Surprised (4/5)

Smart colt who is still improving judging by the way he blew rivals away at Aqueduct last month; graded form stacks up and has scope to keep progressing so well placed to follow up and record career win number four.

The unexposed NEVER SURPRISED is really hard to get away from at Gulfstream Park tonight. He ran over a mile here as a 2yo finishing second to Chess’s Dream in a Grade 3 and has done nothing but improve since. He was denied just a length by Public Sector on reappearance at Saratoga and stepped forward again when denied just a neck by the same rival at Belmont in a Grade 2. That was a career best so it was no surprise to see him bolt up in easier company at Aqueduct last month. This doesn’t look any tougher so with further improvement to come he should have too many gears for these rivals. Yes This Time won 5 in a row before going off the boil slightly. Looks to be the main danger here.

Race 11 Santa Anita 12.20 Going Global (10/11)

Progressive filly who has won 7 of her last 8 and just as impressive surging clear late to win easily at Del Mar last month; deserves a crack at the top level again and with potential to improve again she should be the answer.

I loved the way GOING GLOBAL got on top late at Del Mar last time to win the Grade 2 Goldikova and with potential for better again she can handle the step back up to Grade 1 company tonight. She is still improving and looks the most obvious winner given the potential she brings to the table. Fluffy Socks finished a close third to the selection in the Del Mar Oaks on penultimate start before winning well last time in a Grade 2 to frank the form. She is the most obvious danger but has enough to find to try and reverse the form with the selection. Burgoo Alley is getting the hang of things and has won 2 of her last 3 so might be the value to hit the frame and I’d have her comfortably best of the rest here.
