NAP – Best selection of the evening

Chelmsford 5.15 Shanko (11/8)

Ran on strongly when asked to make a winning debut over 6f here last month; second has won nicely since to frank the form; drop back in trip holds no fears and looks to have found a great opportunity to remain unbeaten.

It isn’t always easy defying a penalty but the way SHANKO won on debut he looks one to follow. This isn’t the strongest of races and if he improves which he should I think he can make it 2-2 here. He drops back to the minimum but certainly doesn’t lack toe and could be a cut above these. He beat Income here last time and that filly has since won nicely at Lingfield to frank the form. Crush And Run finished third on debut and looks the most obvious threat to the favourite. He’ll need to step forward a fair bit though if he is to spring an upset. Caravaggio colt Mick Mchugh makes his debut so has to be respected but he’ll need to be pretty useful to make a winning start here.

NAP

Chelmsford 5.15 Shanko (11/8)

Fairyhouse 12.50 Daly Tiger (11/4)

Smart chaser who was an excellent second to Energumene on return at Cork and stepped forward from that to win nicely over hurdles at Limerick last month; good chance to follow up if in the same form here.

I thought DALY TIGER won really well at Limerick and kept over hurdles here connections look to have found a good opportunity for him to go and follow up. He will be fitter again and looks to have plenty going for him. Autumn Evening sets the standard over timber so has to be feared most despite not running great when down the field here last time. He was only beaten 9 lengths though so wasn’t disgraced. Indigo Breeze is the other one to consider as he clocked a career best at Gowran. This is definitely tougher though so he’ll need to improve to have a say in the outcome and still might come up short. Annamix fell at Newbury but should enjoy coming back over hurdles here.
