NAP – Best selection of the evening

Thurles 3.45 Fakir D’alene (13/8)

Progressive sort who took form up a notch to bolt up at Down Royal last month, always in his comfort zone in first-time blinkers; looks to have been let in leniently on handicap debut and should take all the beating again.

Given that was just FAKIR D’ALENE‘s second start over fences it was really impressive the way he poured it on before going clear. An opening mark of 132 looks to underestimate him and I think he’ll take all the beating again on Sunday afternoon. He has a progressive profile and it’s no surprise to see him trading as the short priced favourite at the time of writing. The Chapel Field has won at this track before and ran well here last time. Connections reach for the blinkers and it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if he emerged as the danger. I think he is vulnerable from a win point of view though. Donkey Years could have moe to come back over fences and Mark Walsh might steer him into second.

NAP

Thurles 3.45 Fakir D’alene (13/8)

Warwick 2.50 Good Risk At All (9/4)

Likeable type who looked a horse going places winning Listed bumpers at both Cheltenham and Newbury; encouraging second on hurdles debut at Chepstow and then bumped into Jonbon last time; hard to beat now.

This looks a great chance for the likeable GOOD RISK AT ALL to open his account over hurdles. He showed good form in bumpers and bumped into Jonbon last time on just his second start over hurdles. He pulled 3 lengths clear from the third and is clearly progressing well. This is winnable and I’ll be surprised if he is beaten. Even at the time of writing he is being well backed in the market so he should go off a well backed favourite come post time. The Skelton’s had a good day at Ascot yesterday so Lydford does look the biggest danger. He made it 2 from 3 over hurdles defying a penalty at Market Rasen and can improve again so looks a threat. Washington needs more but is not discounted either.
