Smart filly who improved to win well last time; travelled strongly into it and was in command close home; back up in grade here but still has more to come and looks the one they all have to beat; hopefully gets a target to aim at.
What a night Stateside last night as Life Is Good thrashed Knicks Go! The DD landed with Newgrange also winning at Oaklawn. We head to Sam Houston tonight and PAULINE’S PEARL can make it back-to-back wins by taking the Houston Ladies Classic. I liked the way she did it last time and with the promise of further improvement on the cards she can follow up despite going back up in grade. The Mary Rose looks the danger to me after she trounced rivals at Oaklawn. That was much calmer waters though so she’ll need to find more especially to cope with the favourite late. Audrey’s Time also deserves a second look as she has won 2 of her last 3 and had Velvet Crush held back in third last time.

Race 6 Tampa Bay Downs 7.43 Emmanuel (6/5)
Exciting colt who created a big impression blowing the opposition away on debut to win by nearly 7 lengths at Gulfstream; sure to improve from that initial effort and looks a horse to keep firmly on side today and going forward.
I’m looking forward to seeing EMMANUEL out again at Tampa tonight. He is a colt with tons of ability judging by that debut win and he can follow up here and make it a perfect 2-2. He is clearly a graded horse in the making and I’m excited to see if he can keep progressing. He will go forward and should be difficult to reel in especially the way he hit the line the last day. In The Union also made a winning start but needed to come off the bridle to do so and will need more to remain unbeaten but is certainly respected. Glider impressed last time which was a massive improvement from his debut but again this looks tougher so he’ll need more to beat the two mentioned above.
