Friday’s Best Bets
DAILY DOUBLE LANDED YESTERDAY! Storm Eunice likely to cause plenty of disruption on Friday so our best bets run over Jumps in Scotland now. Daily Double pays 4/1!
Scroll down to find our most confident selections (NAP & NB) PLUS race-by-race picks for every race across BOTH meetings.
NAP – Best selection of the evening
Kelso 1.30 Grey Skies (1/1)
Travelled strongly before making smooth headway to win going away at Uttoxeter last month; only going to improve now he has his head in front and looks to have found a good opportunity to go and follow up.
Brian Hughes rides both our best bets today at Kelso and last time out winner GREY SKIES looks the one to beat in this novice hurdle. He left previous form behind to win impressively at Uttoxeter and I don’t think the second Charlie’s Glance is a bad horse so it was a likeable performance. He has scope to kick on again now and this looks winnable so I think he’ll take a lot of beating. The danger looks to be Escapeandevade who made all to win on hurdles debut at Ayr and ran well in defeat at Wetherby. Like the selection he has more to come so the pair should battle this one out. He is probably the pace angle in the race so hopefully that gives the selection a nice toe in.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) ALSO RUNS OVER JUMPS IN SCOTLAND AT KELSO!
Kelso 4.10 Ain’t No Sunshine (11/8)
Cost €75,000 as a 3yo and is a brother to bumper winner Airlie Beach; looks to have found a winnable opportunity on debut and strong in the betting too so disappointing if he can’t make a winning start under Brian Hughes.
Not a great deal to go on in this bumper and that’s why I’m taking a strong opinion on AIN’T NO SUNSHINE coming out on top. He looks the most intriguing horse on paper and with Brian Hughes booked everything suggests he is going to take a bit of beating. He was a fairly expensive 3yo and is certainly bred to be pretty useful. Those with experience don’t set a high standard so I think he has a great chance of coming out on top first-up. Chase A Fortune looks the danger having finished second on debut to a nice type. This stiffer test will suit so he should be in there pitching. Eloi Du Puy is from a fairly good background so I expect him to prove best of the remainder.
