NAP – Best selection of the evening
Carlisle 2.25 Silver Flyer (11/8)
Promising type who was snapped up after winning a point and made no mistake on debut under Rules winning impressively by 9 lengths first time over hurdles at Catterick back in December; sure to improve and the one to beat.
I liked what I saw from SILVER FLYER on debut and I think this well related sort can make it a perfect 2-2 here. Donald McCain and Brian Hughes both continue in terrific form and this horse looks up to defying a 7lb penalty with further improvement to come. Main market rival Monbeg Genius is the danger as he has looked fairly promising himself as well. He also won on debut over hurdles and while he failed to back that up at Ascot last month it was a competitive event and he wasn’t disgraced. I fancy the pair to battle this one out. High Moon didn’t need to improve to make all at Catterick but he isn’t entirely ruled out although will need to find further improvement to follow up.

Newcastle 7.00 Triggered (2/1)
Likeable sort who has been knocking on the door since having a wind op and was only beaten narrowly over this trip at Southwell last month; just 1lb above his last winning mark now and should be finishing best.
I don’t think this will take much winning and that’s not to say it’s a poor race but the likes of Burrows Seeside, Jungle Speed and even Athollblair Boy seem to find ways to get beat recently so if things drop right TRIGGERED looks sure to go close. This son of Dandy Man only went down narrowly at Southwell over this trip last time and that looks solid form. He is down another 1lb so is just 1lb above his last winning mark now and if he gets a good target to aim at he might be the one picking them up late. Caribbean Sunset should go hard from the off and that would be an ideal scenario. Of those mentioned above I think Burrows Seeside will be the one to give the fav most to think about.
