Race 9 Sunland Park 10.59 Our Iris Rose (6/5)

Tough mare who dug deep and saw it out strongly over this trip when last seen at Lone Star back in the summer; hard to beat if she returns in similar form; will likely go forward and if she gets on the speed she will win.

Given she has gone well fresh before I think OUR IRIS ROSE can make a winning return at Sunland Park on Tuesday night. The way she pressured the pace throughout when last seen and then still had a kick up the straight was very eye-catching and given her profile there could still be more if called upon yet. There’s quite a few closers so she might get it easy on the front. If she starts dictating I don’t think they’ll get to her late. Staci’s Red Dress could go forward but she lacks experience and while she has won 3 times from just 5 starts this is definitely a bit tougher. Girona also has to enter the reckoning after that win last time and she might be the biggest danger. Flyin Falynn also has to be respected.

Race 4 Penn National 12.22 Minding Millie (11/8)

Exciting filly who hacked up over a mile here back in January, motoring clear in the closing stages; clearly firmly on the upgrade and step back up in trip sure to suit; plenty going for her and should win again.

The way MINDING MILLIE won here last time was mightily impressive and if she repeats that sort of form here she will take a lot of beating. She had 13 lengths in hand and always had too much for them. She will go forward and could have all these burned off bar probably Bess at halfway. The latter did get the better of the selection 3 starts back but had everything go her way then and I think the selection has improved since. She remains unexposed so I’m confident she can reverse the form as only half a length separated them anyway. Moma Tiger has some decent form in the book too but we haven’t seen her for nearly 3 months so she might do better for the run here.
