NAP – Best selection of the evening

Carlisle 3.25 Malpas (5/6)

Caught the eye going very close at Catterick in a race that has worked out well before backing that up with a good third over C&D last month; did it well latest; good opportunity again so looks the one to beat.

It’s hard to look past MALPAS at Carlisle on Sunday. He made all in good style over C&D last time and while he was entitled to win as he did he had been running to a very decent level before that so with confidence boosted by that success back in handicap company he looks the most likely winner. He will push forward in this small field and it should be catch me if you can under Brian Hughes. Cockney Beau ran well behind Our Jet and Rafferty’s Return at Wetherby last month and that makes him the main danger. Snowy Clouds was poor last time and is hard to recommend off the back of that. Augharue also needs to better that recent effort and might need more time and experience.

NAP

Carlisle 3.25 Malpas (5/6)

Chepstow 2.00 Super Survivor (10/11)

Looked a nice prospect winning stylishly on debut over hurdles at Doncaster last month, going away again at the line; more to come for sure and with scope to keep improving can make it a perfect 2-2 here; one to keep on side.

I can see SUPER SURVIVOR going off a short price here as he looked the part winning easily at Doncaster last month. If he comes on from that I fancy him to remain unbeaten here. He obviously lacks experience but looked to have a bright future and I’m keen to keep him on side. He has a penalty to carry obviously but I think he’ll be up to the task. Autonomous Cloud wasn’t disgraced at Wetherby and if improving again could emerge as the main danger to the favourite. Flemensfirth gelding Pimlico Point also deserves a mention after finishing second in a bumper at Exeter in January. He should have a future so it wouldn’t surprise me to see him run well behind the selection.
