Wednesday’s Best Bets
LET’S GET THE GYTO DD BACK FIRING! Busy day on Wednesday with racing from Haydock, Ffos Las, Ludlow and Dundalk. Daily Double pays 11/2!
Scroll down to find our most confident selections (NAP & NB) PLUS race-by-race picks for every race across all FOUR meetings again.
NAP – Best selection of the evening
Ffos Las 4.15 Valsheda (13/8)
Looked a nice prospect winning over hurdles at Exeter last year; took a tumble on chase debut at Newbury but quickly bounced back with a really encouraging second to a subsequent winner at Kempton; can go one better.
I’ve been waiting for VALSHEDA to run again following a really promising second to Killer Kane at Kempton last month. He only went down a length and a half staying on well at the finish and given the winner Killer Kane has followed up at Sandown since the form has been nicely franked. Even the fourth Certainly Red who was well held has won by 5 lengths next time out. He is open to plenty of improvement and I’m expecting him to take care of this field. Shaman Du Berlais looked set to win at Haydock before making a bad error. He could be the danger to the selection but I think he’ll be vulnerable again late on. Ask For Glory needed the run following a wind op at Chepstow and could also feature.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS OVER JUMPS AT LUDLOW ON WEDNESDAY!
Ludlow 4.05 Guy (13/8)
Likeable sort who had been knocking on the door prior to disappointing at Ascot behind Palmers Hill; back to his best denied a neck at Leicester last time; likely very hard to beat if reproducing that sort of form here; big chance.
I’m confident GUY is the one to beat here and I think that will be reflected in the market come post time. He went mightily close the last day and a similar effort to that should see him salute the judge this afternoon. Tide Times certainly isn’t handicapped out of things and I think he is the one most likely to give the favourite something to think about. Of the rest As You Like is lightly raced in recent times and is proven fresh so has to be factored in here as well. Pontresina unseated at Cheltenham but was running well. If that hasn’t knocked his confidence then he shouldn’t shape too badly again. Th rank outsider Havana Hermano looks up against it following that poor return at Fakenham over hurdles.
