NAP – Best selection of the evening
Wincanton 3.20 Merry Mistress (2/1)
Impressed with the way she got off the mark over hurdles at Hereford back in November; found herself back in the winners enclosure following a cracking second at Market Rasen winning convincingly at Doncaster latest; hard to beat.
With the short priced favourite Midnight Callisto disappointing MERRY MISTRESS made no mistake at Doncaster last time, drawing clear and always doing enough close home with the front pair clear from the rest. She should appreciate this drying ground having won on Good at Hereford back in November and off just a 4lb rise looks to have leading claims again. Fiveandtwenty ran well at Musselburgh on penultimate start but failed to back that up at Hereford and has a bit to prove off the back of that effort. Yauthym is very consistent and she shouldn’t be far away again but I think Sarceaux might be the biggest danger. She impressed at Kempton and acquitted herself well in defeat at Taunton latest.

Lingfield 2.35 Rainbow Mirage (7/2)
Likeable mare who was very much back to her best winning impressively over C&D earlier this month; strong pace assured again and that should help her produce her turn of foot; looks difficult to oppose again; leading claims.
The way RAINBOW MIRAGE put it to bed over C&D last time was impressive for the grade and if she reproduces that sort of run off just a 2lb higher mark then she is clearly the one they all have to beat. Rob Hornby takes over in the saddle and this Garswood mare looks to have plenty going for her again. Queen Of Burgundy and Kaahira should push forward and make this an end-to-end gallop which will only play to the favourites strengths further. The danger looks to be Miss Bella Brand who hasn’t been beaten far the last twice and should get competitive again. I’m not sure how much if any she has in hand of her mark though. Cool Vixen possibly best of the rest but she definitely needs more again.
