Monday’s Best Bets
DAILY DOUBLE LANDED YESTERDAY! Racing to start a new week from Hexham, Windsor, Pontefract and Tramore. Daily Double pays 5/1!
Scroll down to find our most confident selections (NAP & NB) PLUS race-by-race picks for every race across all FOUR meetings again.
NAP – Best selection of the evening
Pontefract 3.05 Autumn Festival (11/8)
Promising sort who showed bits and pieces of ability before making a winning handicap debut at Redcar last week; turned out quickly under a penalty and likely to try and make all again; should prove hard to beat.
With Wendell’s Lad out now this looks a great opportunity for AUTUMN FESTIVAL to follow up. This son of Poet’s Voice made a winning handicap debut at Redcar last time and always looked to be in control. He has found a good race to try and follow up in and under likely positive tactics again he will look to burn these off. The obvious danger is Ba Na Hills who also left previous form behind to make a winning debut in handicap company but that did come on the AW so he has it to prove on turf still. He is also stepping up to a mile for the first time so a couple of questions to answer. Ravenglass is a son of Ribchester and he should have a future but might need more time and experience.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT WINDSOR!
Windsor 4.40 Chimed (13/8)
Frankel colt who caught the eye on debut with the penny seemingly dropping late as he stayed on well for third; goes up in trip on return and sure to be more streetwise now so no surprise to see him open his account.
The rumours are good surrounding Frankel colt CHIMED and there was enough promise on his debut run to suggest he can prove a cut above these here. He will also relish the extra yardage judging by the way he stayed on at Kempton and he could be a nice prospect for the season ahead for Sir Michael Stoute. Sea The Moon filly Speak is likely to acquit herself well in opposition. She made a winning start at Kempton before running creditably behind Inspiral in the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster. These are obviously calmer waters but she might be bumping into one in the shape of the selection. Of the rest Maplewood for the boys in blue also showed ability on debut and will do better in time.
