Easter Sunday’s Best Tips
NAP LANDED AGAIN YESTERDAY SO ON A HAT-TRICK NOW! Racing on Easter Sunday from Ffos Las, Cork, Newbury, Market Rasen, Southwell, Fairyhouse and Plumpton. Daily Double pays 9/2!
The NAP landed again yesterday as Perfect Power picked up smartly to win the Greenham. It will be interesting to see if Richard Fahey targets the Guineas next month and steps him up further in trip to a mile. Another busy day lined up and we’ll be hoping to land a NAP hat-trick as attention turns to the AW at Southwell.
NAP – Best selection of the evening
Southwell 3.42 Watermelon Sugar (1/1)
Improving with experience and hard not to be impressed with how he left them standing albeit in a seller at Leicester last time; this very winnable as well so good chance to remain unbeaten and make it 3-3.
Connections were keen to keep hold of WATERMELON SUGAR following his romp at Leicester last time and with scope for further progression he can remain unbeaten here. He travels strongly and is equipped with a smart turn of foot as well. I expect him to be up near the pace again and I’m not sure there is anything good enough in here to live with him late. Liangel Hope remains lightly raced and should still be capable of better so looks the biggest danger to the favourite. Animist stepped forward from his debut run to go down just a length at Catterick. If he can build on that he is also worth a second look but he has a first-time hood and might not be the most straightforward.
Plumpton 5.10 Richidish (7/4)
Left previous form miles behind to win emphatically at Fontwell last time, staying on well in first-time blinkers; handicapper has reacted raising him 10lb for that but might still be ahead of the assessor in a weak race.
I’m banking on the headgear working again for RICHIDISH as if it does I still think he has a bit in hand of the handicapper. A 10lb rise seems harsh but this race lacks strength in depth and if he applies himself once more he has found a good opportunity to follow up. Salamanca School will make it an end-to-end gallop which will help. Loup De Maulde remains in good form but he has a tendency to find one too good and that might be the way this turns out again here. He is certainly handicapped to go close but I still have my reservations. En Coeur has a good record at this track and has form that ties in with the latter so also has to be feared. It’s hard to recommend much else.
