Race 6 Tampa Bay Downs 8.18 Towering Gaze (6/5)
Useful mare at this level and proved too strong again to win by 5 lengths over further here at the start of the month; won 2 of her last 4 now and hard to beat again if matching that sort of performance tonight.
The likeable TOWERING GAZE has won both starts on dirt this campaign and she was impressive last time so it’s no surprise to see her back up in grade here. She is proven at this level and with Jara likely to set a strong gallop she should get a good target to run down. The latter won impressively herself last time but this looks tougher and she was a fair way behind the selection when they met on turf earlier in the season. Azura might be the one to emerge as the danger as she impressed a few starts back and remains lightly raced so could have more to offer yet. Jim’s Bronze Star won over 6f last time and has a squeak but still needs to prove herself over this extra furlong.

Race 5 Thistledown 7.50 Gonnabegood (11/8)
Likeable filly who won head in chest on penultimate start and hit the front too soon in hindsight when denied a nose on the line latest; lots going for her and she might even improve again so the one to beat.
The money looks to be coming for GONNABEGOOD and she should prove hard to beat at Thistledown tonight. She was mightily impressive on penultimate start and looked a bit unlucky to get chinned last time. She has more to come and looks well placed to win again. Rainbow Ship showed a good attitude to prevail on penultimate start and has been given time since disappointing when last seen. If she is fit enough and ready to go she could emerge as the main danger to the selection. Queen Creed is unexposed and has won 2 of her last 3 so if handling the step up in grade might land a blow as well but for me still has enough to find with the selection who looks very solid.
