NAP – Best selection of the evening
Ascot 2.20 Al Aasy (13/8)
Took his form up a notch winning first two starts back at Newbury last season; hard to knock him mixing it with some very good horses in defeat after; this looks a good starting point and class should tell.
I know AL AASY isn’t the most straightforward of individuals but he won twice at Group level last season and finished just a neck behind Pyledriver in a Coronation Cup. His form is hard to knock and I can see him travelling into this strongly before hopefully always doing enough at the finish. He looks the class act in the field and given how well he performed early on last season now might be the time to catch him. Third Realm got firmly back on track when fourth in the Prix Dollar at Longchamp and brings potential to the table on return so looks the obvious danger. Of the rest Stowell ran well when third to Max Vegas on return at Newbury and is another one to note if managing to build on that.
Lingfield 3.15 Emily Dickinson (13/8)
Caught the eye doing all her best work late on at Leopardstown on return and confirmed that promise to get her head in front at Naas last month; she will love this step up in trip and very much the one to beat.
This will require another step forward but I like what I’ve seen so far from EMILY DICKINSON and to me she still looks like she is getting the hang of things. There is definitely further improvement to come let alone stepping up to this trip and given connections she could be a very nice prospect indeed. Ryan Moore is off the back of a superb week at Chester and confidence will be sky high. Belt Buckle made a bright start winning on debut at Wolverhampton despite running green and she should be more streetwise now so has to be considered. I actually think Rogue Millennium might prove a greater threat though as she also looked good winning on debut and is bred to be useful.
