Progressive son of Camelot who comes here chasing a four-timer after impressing again to keep the winning run going at Wolverhampton last month, going away again at the finish; 8lb hike but not done improving yet.
Even with that latest rise I think PRYDWEN remains ahead of the handicapper. He capped off last season with a smart performance to win on turf at Yarmouth and he has gone 2-2 so far this season with the form franked on both occasions. He possesses a nice turn of foot over this trip and with potential for a fierce pace on here with Bad Company and Imperial Sands likely to go at it he should have a nice target to aim at in the closing stages. The main danger looks to be Pisanello who won at Beverley on return before finishing a good third not beaten far at Thirsk last time. He is off the same mark again here so should get competitive and is likely to finish second to the selection.

York 3.00 Rogue Bear (11/4)
Promising type who won 2 from 3 last campaign and has improved again this season finishing third in the Lincoln on return doing his best work late before bumping into Modern News; will relish the extra yardage.
I’ve been waiting for Tom Clover to step ROGUE BEAR up in trip and finally we get to see him tackle a mile and a quarter. He has done all his best work late on in two starts so far this season and both represent really strong pieces of form. He remains open to further improvement and is hugely unexposed. I know this looks competitive on paper but 11/4 is a great price to me as I don’t see anything finishing as well as him in here. He is up 2lb from that half a length second to Modern News at Newbury but I’ll be surprised if he isn’t ahead of his mark still. Belloccio impressed making a winning handicap debut at Kempton last month and will be the danger if transferring that to turf up just 5lb.
