NAP – Best selection of the evening
Sandown 4.00 Golden Voice (9/4)
Looked promising making all the running to win by 3 lengths at Newcastle on reappearance; pulled readily clear with the winner when denied just a head at York on handicap debut last month; drop back to 7f a big plus.
This won’t be easy as there are some nice types in here but I’m hoping none more so than GOLDEN VOICE for William Haggas. This son of Havana Gold looked a decent prospect bolting up by 3 lengths at Newcastle on return over this trip. He didn’t really relish the mile like I thought he would on handicap debut but that effort is still hard to knock. He drops back down a furlong in trip now and off a 5lb higher mark is hard to oppose. The likes of Windseeker, Muhtashim and Lethal Nymph could all go forward and he should get a lovely toe in. He is a strong traveller so this could set up perfectly. Auditor has failed to build on that Sandown second but might be a good bet to hit the frame here.
NB – Second best selection of the day
MY NEXT BEST WON AGAIN YESTERDAY AND IS CHASING A HAT-TRICK NOW!
Bath 4.46 Sisterandbrother (3/1)
Improving and was asked for his effort too late when a very good second over track and trip last month; had beaten that horse previously so it was a poor ride for me; still on the upgrade and good chance to resume his progress now.
I’m confident there is still more to come from SISTERANDBROTHER and with Shane Kelly getting the leg up he will likely be better positioned here. True Romance also likes this track and he should strip fitter from that reappearance third over hurdles at Huntingdon. He is the likely danger but Merweb also won over C&D back in April and was far from disgraced when fourth at Windsor. If he is within striking distance he should be hitting the frame. My Boy Charles was down the field here on return and needs to better that to get involved but you’d be silly to entirely rule him out given he is still a 4yo. Master Grey and Liberated Lad are both solid yardsticks but they need to do more to win this.
