MY US NAP IS STILL CHASING A FIVE-TIMER ON SATURDAY NIGHT!

Race 4 Belmont Park 6.08 Speak Of The Devil (6/5)

Smart mare who won impressively on her debut Stateside in the Grade 2 Distaff Mile at Churchill Downs last month; she is hard to look past following that performance and should prove too good for these.

The way SPEAK OF THE DEVIL travelled last time was mightily impressive. She cruised into contention from off the pace and was much the best. I can only see her improving from that given it was her first start for 172 days and I fully expect her to go and follow up. Stablemate Regal Glory looks the danger as she has won 6 of her last 8 and is already proven at this level winning the Jenny Wiley at Keeneland last time. She will likely get first run but the way this will pan out is very likely to suit the selection and I’m surprised she isn’t shorter. It could easily be a 1-2-3 for trainer Chad Brown who also saddles the third fav In Italian. She was second to the selection last time and hard to see her reversing that.

Race 7 Belmont Park 8.05 Letruska (5/4)

Tough mare who was back to her best following that Breeders’ Cup disappointment to win by 3 lengths on return and then backed that up at the top level at Oaklawn Park last time; hard to see her beaten again here.

I’m sticking with the battle hardened LETRUSKA to come out on top here. She is eyeing up a hat-trick after winning at this level at Oaklawn Park last time. If she gives her best she will win this so even at 5/4 she looks a decent play at the odds for me. Malathaat beat Bonny South at Keeneland last time so may well emerge as the main danger to the selection. That said Clairiere got closest to her when second at Oaklawn Park last time so a similar run to that would see her bang there if you’re looking at the without market. Search Results has looked promising and won well here last time but this is tougher again so she’ll need to keep improving if she is to have a say in this.
