A lot to like about the way he brushed rivals aside to win easily over 2 miles here on reappearance last month; up 7lb but acquitted himself well in defeat bumping into an improver last time; most likely winner.
The NAP was a determined winner yesterday after a tough week so hopefully we can go back-to-back on Sunday afternoon. PERCY’S WORD impressed winning here on return and didn’t do a lot wrong last time bumping into Gipsy De Choisel who looks a nice type for Nicky Henderson. He is off the same mark back up in trip and could have too much for these rivals. With Glynn out the Owners Group are still represented by Miranda and she looks the most likely danger to the favourite. She could never land a blow on the Flat at Haydock last month but she definitely has the ability to pose a threat here. Solo Saxophone should appreciate coming back over hurdles but has enough to prove.

Pontefract 4.15 Highwaygrey (5/2)
Four-time C&D winner who is on a long losing run but has been contesting better races than this recently; slow starts have been costing him; handicapper giving him a chance now; this looks a good opportunity.
Down to a mark of 76 now (10lb below his last winning mark) HIGHWAYGREY really shouldn’t have any excuses at Pontefract on Sunday. He has been running against better horses than this and he should appreciate these calmer waters now. His slow break is slightly worrying but he might still get away with it in this company over a mile and a quarter. The danger is likely Love Is Golden who ran well at Chester 8 days ago and if building on that will give the selection most to think about. Of the rest Mackenzie Rose also deserves a mention after winning at Doncaster but she is drawn wide which would have to be a negative I think. Taj Alola has been niggled at but is also out wide.
