MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 6 AT PENN NATIONAL ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT!

Race 6 Penn National 1.16 Calculated Thinkin (5/4)

Likeable type who rattled off a hat-trick earlier in the year and was back in the winners enclosure over track and trip last month, closing up well at the finish to win with a bit in hand; looks well placed to follow up.

It’s a bit of a wait for the US NAP on Wednesday (actually runs in the early hours of Thursday morning) as we head to Penn National. CALCULATED THINKIN won well last time and if in the same mood here should take a lot of beating. This is no tougher and he rattled off a hat-trick when last in the winners enclosure earlier in the year. He is unlikely to improve but a repeat of that last run should suffice. Cargo Ship scored on penultimate start but faded tamely last time. If bouncing back might be the danger but has enough to prove. Martinkelly was behind the selection last time so has ground to make up but may well be the other one to hit the frame. Ace Nine Nine needs more on that last run.

Race 8 Finger Lakes 9.19 My Maggie (9/4)

Progressive filly who was only reeled in late on debut and improved plenty to win impressively over 6f here when last seen last year; if she steps forward again from that she will likely be hard to beat once more.

I know Purple Malinda got the better of MY MAGGIE here last year but the latter was making her debut and she improved a chunk to win by a wide margin on second start. Given time to mature and strengthen up since she is a confident bet to reverse that form. I’ll be surprised if she doesn’t make it 2 wins from just 3 starts. Over The Sand was also an easy winner last time and she looks the danger to the favourite. She has more to come so should finish second. Another Image also brings winning form to the table but she will need more given the potential the front pair bring to the table. Central Capital was a good second last time but this looks to have a fair bit of strength in depth.
