THE NAP WAS SO UNLUCKY YESTERDAY! Hopefully I can get back on track on Tuesday. Racing from Musselburgh and Ballinrobe. Daily Double pays 11/2!
NAP – Best selection of the evening
Musselburgh 4.45 The Thin Blue Line (6/4)
Won in good style over C&D back in April and not done much wrong in defeat since; excellent second to Only Spoofing over track and trip last month and then ran on well at Hamilton last time; down in grade off the same mark.
Primo’s Comet continues to run well and has to be respected but he often finds one too good and that might be the case again here with THE THIN BLUE LINE. This son of Mehmas won convincingly over C&D back in April and he has held his form really well in defeat since. That second to Only Spoofing over track and trip on penultimate start reads well and he ran well again when third at Hamilton last time. He clearly goes well at this track and down slightly in grade running off the same mark I’m expecting him to be hitting the line best. Callum Rodriguez has rode him to 3 of his 4 career victories so knows the horse well and gets the leg back up too. Primo’s Comet still looks the main danger.

Ballinrobe 7.00 Natural Look (2/1)
Improving mare who very much caught the eye in defeat when third at Tramore at the start of the month; missed the break and stayed on well despite seemingly not handling the track; can improve again especially back up in trip.
I try and avoid Ireland for my best bets but given the lack of racing on due to the heatwave I am going to put up NATURAL LOOK at Ballinrobe on Tuesday. This mare ran well on return to finish fourth at Clonmel but likely needed that effort. She then improved to finish third at Tramore and she was a step slow away that day and was always playing catch-up after. I never really felt like she could lengthen just struggling with the track to some degree. She should be spot on now and with this extra yardage definitely in her favour I think she can make the breakthrough now. Glenmalure Lodge ran well when second here last time and if she manages to repeat that she is the biggest danger.
