NAP – My best tip of the day

MY NAP RUNS AT THIRSK ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON!

Thirsk 3.48 Substantial (3/1)

Progressive form in handicaps so far winning 2 from 3; nicely on top at Haydock last time and can confirm that form here with further improvement likely stepping back up to a mile; should get a good pace to run down.

I wasn’t quite quick enough to get the 7/2 but even at 3/1 SUBSTANTIAL looks a great bet to go 3 from 4 in handicaps. He isn’t the most straightforward of individuals but Jamie Spencer is a perfect jockey booking and hopefully he’ll get him nicely settled before looking to pounce late. He is only up 5lb from that Haydock win and Gweedore has gone in since to frank the form. I think he’ll turn out to be much better than a mark of 82 so that makes him a strong selection here with plenty of pace on. Gweedore could turn out to be the danger again but I can’t see him reversing that form. Makeen has won over C&D and is in good form so shouldn’t be too far away either.

Lingfield 8.15 Queen Of Change (3/1)

Sea The Stars filly who showed bits and pieces of promise before running a big race on handicap debut over C&D last week; only going to improve again and hard to beat in what looks a good opportunity on paper.

I know Arcadian Friend has been turned over since but he still looks a well handicapped horse and for QUEEN OF CHANGE to get so close on her handicap debut was a nice effort. She is well bred being by Sea The Stars and is only going to improve with experience so this looks a good opportunity. I thought she’d be shorter than 3/1 so definitely a price worth taking. Citizen General improved to win at Nottingham but that was hardly convincing and I think he’ll find this tougher. He is up 5lb and I’m surprised he is so short. Jacks Profit has won at this track which would have to be a plus but I’m not sure he is in good enough form to take this. The selection should have too much for them.
