York 1.50

Not a bad renewal of the Lowther with Dramatised a short priced favourite for this. Whilst I rate her chances I am going for one at a much bigger price in LADY HOLLYWOOD who has really stepped forward over her last 3 runs. Her latest win at Naas was boosted by the second and third at the weekend. If she can improve again she is a big price in a race that should be run to suit.

Dramatised is the main danger but has a few that will take her on for the lead so I just don’t fancy playing at a short price in what looks an open race. Mawj has some great form and will surely be involved but with a lot of pace on it could really bring KERINDIA into this running on late at a massive price like she did in France last time.

York 2.25

A valuable sales race up next and a race that lives in the memory for Mums Tipple’s demolition job back in 2019. It was good to see him win the other day but anyway back to this race. It’s fiercely competitive again but with Richard Hannon saddling the winner in 4 of the last 6 years I’ve got to be seriously interested in SHOULDVEBEENARING in the Middleham Park Racing colours. This colt by Havana Grey left his debut run behind to win convincingly at Ripon back in May and has likely been put away for this race since. He is said to have improved since and I think there is a lot to like.

Given the size of the field heading to post I’m also going to have an each way saver on METAHORSE for Michael Bell. I’m surprised this colt is as big as 10/1 in the betting at the time of writing as he won nicely again at Thirsk and his jockey Rossa Ryan clearly thinks he is pretty useful. If he steps forward again he could easily be involved here. Plenty of dangers but I’m surprised Washington Heights is as short as he is for this. Remarakble Force ran well at Goodwood and has to be noted and at a massive price Glorious Angel might be capable of showing up well.

York 3.00

It may be a competitive handicap but it is two quite obvious ones I like here. ORBAAN who has been thriving of late and I can see why he is out again here the way he has been finishing his races. He won really well at Glorious Goodwood before winning on Shergar Cup day with a bit to spare again. He is only up 4lb here and will go close again if getting the gaps and is a lovely each way price.

Last years winner CRUYFF TURN may be 5lb higher this year but he just loves York. He has won both starts here including a win earlier this season. He has likely been targeted at this and I expect a big run. Blue For You will be popular after everyone saw the trouble he found in-running at Goodwood and he might get a bit of an easier passage here and rates a danger to all.

York 3.35

This looks a really good race and with Aidan O’Brien winning the last two renewals with Love and Snowfall then Tuesday has to be respected even after flopping in the Irish Derby. I am going to oppose her though as I love the chances of ALPINISTA for Sir Mark Prescott. That was some training performance for her to defy an absence and win the Grand Prix Saint-Cloud Stakes in France last month. She is so likeable and should be spot on for this now. I’m confident she is the one they all have to beat as she bids to make it a staggering 7 wins in a row.

Of the rest Magical Lagoon was all heart to win the Irish Oaks last time and while she is a filly I have a lot of time for this clearly demands another step up. La Petite Coco beat My Astra in the Pretty Polly and is another one that demands respect but will likely have to find further improvement to spring an upset in this.

York 4.10

This looks like a decent renewal with a few of these likely to be running at a higher level sooner rather than later. HASKOY‘s debut was such a taking race as usually winning like that on debut they have gone slow and sprinted away but the time figure is rock solid suggesting she could be special. She will be better for the run and I for one can’t wait to see what the daughter of Golden Horn can do.

Golden Lyra won impressively last time but the time figure suggests it wasn’t a good race. She will be a danger based on her run at this level in the race before at Newbury but could be vulnerable to the selection. At a bigger price I thought it was worth including VOODOO QUEEN too as she really seems to have stepped forward lately. She impressed beating Elegant Verse at Newmarket and then was nicely on top last month. If she keeps improving she could be a lively one in here for sure.

York 4.45

One Nation will likely prove popular here for Appleby chasing a hat-trick but I’m going to look away from the top of the market for this. I fancy MANIFESTED to run a big race for Richard Hannon. This colt has shown ability in all 3 starts and his last two runs at Sandown and Ffos Las last time have worked out notably well since. He goes handicapping now off a mark of 81 and it would be no surprise to see him improve and get seriously involved here.

I also like BENACRE for Mark Johnston. This colt by Australia created quite a big impression winning on debut at Epsom and then was far from disgraced despite being turned over at odds-on at Beverley last month. That form has been franked since and if he has filled his frame a little more he could be capable of a big run. Indian Dream won at Epsom as well and then went down just a neck at Haydock so also has a chance here. X J Rascal looked a bit unlucky last time and is also noted.

York 5.20

A few in here caught the eye on the last runs suggesting they are well handicapped. QUEEN AMINATU should have won just over a week ago at Haydock with a clear passage. She is well-in here as a result and gets to run off a really low weight. They clearly think a bit of her as she ran in a decent Listed event at Sandown earlier in the season and I think she has a lot to come especially at this trip.

Mobadra is on a hat-trick after a couple of nice wins and off a mark of just 93 she will go well here so looks the main danger. Adaay In Asia is very interesting stepping up to this this trip after 3 wins at 6 furlongs but will likely need to find more again to win this.
