BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY! A busy day with racing from Southwell, Cartmel, Chepstow, Downpatrick, Ripon, Epsom and Roscommon. Daily Double pays 8/1!

MY NAP RUNS ON THE FLAT AT RIPON ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY!

Promising type who made an encouraging start when fifth at Thirsk and improved again beaten less than a length in third at Ayr; still looked green when second last time and if he progresses again should be hard to beat.

I’m confident THANKUAPPRECIATE is the one to beat here. He was a bit of an eye-catcher despite being sent off at 80/1 on debut at Thirsk. He travelled well into it and just got caught wide before finishing fifth. He improved when never really seeing daylight at Ayr next time and then kept changing his legs when second to Tyrone’s Poppy last time. He is still rough around the edges but if improving again I think will be extremely hard to beat. I know the stable are out of form and that is the likely reason we’re getting 15/8 as I think he should be shorter. Betweenthesticks is more exposed than the selection but still has to be respected as he has finished second the last twice.

Epsom 2.05 Phinow (9/4)

Caught the eye going close at Wolverhampton last month despite racing keenly; good third at Southwell last time and that form worked out notably well since with both the winner and second going in next time.

This looks a great chance for PHINOW to open his account on turf. He went close at Wolverhampton and then ran a big race in defeat when third at Southwell last time. That is strong form with the winner So Grateful and the runner-up Badri both winning again since. He remains open to further improvement and this looks a good opportunity. Bonita B has finished 212 on her last three runs and she looks the main danger. This mark has proved beyond her in the past though which is a bit concerning. Silver Kitten disappointed at Brighton last time but if bouncing back could be on a good mark but enough to prove. Thismydream is still a maiden but is down another 2lb so is also worth mentioning.
