Goodwood 1.50
A really open race to kick off ITV Racing on Sunday in which none of these would surprise me if they won. I am going to take a chance on INDIAN CREAK bouncing back now in a small field again. He might be able to dominate from the front at a track he goes well at. With Typhoon Ten and Punchbowl Flyer out he only has 4 rivals so might be able to boss it.
There are plenty of dangers including Many A Star who won here last month and only carries 2lb more. Even Atalanta’s Boy who has won the last two runnings of this race has a chance if bouncing back to form.
Beverley 2.05
Another wide open handicap this time over at Beverley. I do like HEAD CHEF for O’Meara. This son of Awtaad improved to open his account at Ripon back in June and has held his form reasonably well since. He was beaten less than a length last time and off just a 1lb higher mark he looks a good each way play at 6/1.
Plenty of dangers likely headed by Outsmart who has won at this track and was a good third last time clear from the rest. Ryan Sexton claims a handy 5lb too. Broctune Red has also won over C&D before and has gone well fresh which is a plus.
This may be a valuable seller but the race doesn’t look that deep and JUST A TAD looks the one they all have to beat. She was on a hat-trick before boiling over at the start at Newmarket. Based on her form prior to that it would be plenty good enough to take this so it’s no surprise to see her trading as favourite.
Borntobealeader is the danger dropping back down in trip and this does look easier than the company he has been keeping. Bazalgette is still a maiden so even off the back of that second at Brighton he is hard to recommend.
Beverley 2.40
It has been some season for CAPTAIN KANE winning 6 times and he might not be done yet. I think it has been excellent placing from George Scott and again he finds himself in a very winnable race. I thought he did it with a bit up his sleeve at Yarmouth last time and running under a penalty here he might prove too strong again. He finds plenty off the bridle and is tactically versatile so with just 3 runners to beat he looks the one to side with.
Golden Keeper has only run four times and made the breakthrough last time. He was always doing enough on that occasion but he definitely meets a tougher rival in the selection now and needs to prove he can back that up. The other pair look up against it but Cappoquin could still have a bit of potential but she did fade alarmingly last time so definitely needs to bounce back from that.
Goodwood 3.00
The usual small field for this race but it is a competitive one. FALLING SHADOW gets a confident vote though as I suspect he could be running in Group company in the future. He has only run 3 times this season with a win, a second and a very unlucky run at Ascot. He looks classy the way he travels and could have plenty to come.
Paradias is the main danger based on his second to Caius Chorister at the track last month. If in the same form I expect him to chase home the favourite. Al Mubhir is unexposed but needs to improve.
Beverley 3.15
I know BEAUTIFUL AISLING was entitled to win as she did last time but it was still a nice performance and if she improves again she could take a bit of beating here. She is well bred being by Havana Gold and has plenty of upside. She took it up soon enough last time so I think they’ll look to get a bit more cover here before pouncing.
The danger is Tatterstall who went too hard off the front last time and now handicapping should have more to offer. Not For Profit has won 2 of his last 3 starts and is another one to note in opposition.
Goodwood 3.35
A decent renewal with a few horses at the top of the market who have been running well in better races. DOUBLE OR BUBBLE has ran with credit in two Group 1s on her last two starts. If she runs to that level again here she will be tough to beat.
Happy Power won this two years ago and is favourite at the time of writing. He ran a cracker here in a good race last time but needs to be at the top of his game to win this again. I’m A Gambler is on a hat-trick and is thriving so while this is tougher he could also go close.
