MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 8 AT SARATOGA ON SUNDAY NIGHT!
Race 8 Saratoga 10.05 Wit (15/8)
Promising colt who returned with a gutsy win at Aqueduct back in April; finished strongly when only beaten narrowly into second on turf debut over C&D last time; this easier and can improve again so leading claims.
Great chance for the progressive WIT to open his account on turf at Saratoga on Sunday night. He just got too far back last time in better company than this and finished really well. He is open to further improvement and if he steps forward again he should have too many gears for this field in the closing stages. The danger looks to be Napoleonic War who had looked promising prior to blowing out last time. If you forgive that then he’ll give the favourite something to think about. At a bigger price Riot House is on a hat-trick after impressing again last time but this is definitely much deeper company now so he’ll need to step forward a fair bit if he is to spring an upset tonight.

Race 8 Del Mar 1.33 Slammed (15/8)
Likeable filly who made it 7 wins from her last 8 starts impressively over 6f here last month; not done improving yet and while this is her toughest ask to date stepping into graded company one to keep on side.
I’m looking forward to seeing SLAMMED vs Edgeway at Del Mar overnight. I’m keen to side with the former who is a winning machine. she impressed again on reappearance last time and with added fitness onside and the promise of further improvement she gets a confident vote to win the battle. Edgeway is obviously plenty talented herself as well so it should be a good race but she disappointed in top company when last seen and has a bit to prove following that unlike the selection who remains thoroughly unexposed. Private Mission was also firmly on the upgrade prior to blowing out last time. She is another one I’m keeping my eye on but she also has enough to prove right now.
