Race 7 Belterra Park 8.29 Solesofhershoes (13/8)

Promising filly who improved to win impressively over track and trip last month; got caught too far back last time but finished well for third; hard to beat if getting away better here so worth keeping on side.

The way SOLESOFHERSHOES won on penultimate start was very impressive and if she gets back to that sort of form then quite simply she will win this. She got caught too far back last time and by the time she ran on the race was over. She is still open to further progression and looks worth keeping on side in this slightly easier contest. Suporb could be the danger as she won 3 starts back and has finished second the last twice. She was all out last time though so will need more but should at least confirm that form with Lady Unbridled despite there being just a nose in it. Waris was also second last time but this looks tougher and if the fav runs her race that should be too much for her.

Race 8 Thistledown 9.20 Aferdita (2/1)

Progressive filly who won head in chest over C&D last time, drawing off easily; open to further improvement after just a handful of starts and should follow up here; Sabelle should give her a good pace to run down.

Great chance for AFERDITA to follow up at Thistledown tonight. She was impressive last time and a repeat of that performance at the same sort of level would see her salute the judge again. She is versatile but I expect her to track Sabelle through before proving too strong in the closing stages. Caltha was behind Bourbonwithginger last time but might reverse that form here and prove the biggest danger. Simona’s Choice needs to show more than what we’ve seen from her last time. Sky looks a lively player to hit the frame as some of her form stacks up but I’ll be surprised if she can spring an upset here. Pasatime is the outsider of the field but did win nicely last time. This is definitely deeper company.
