Race 8 Woodbine 10.01 Whimsical Dance (10/11)

Promising filly who created a big impression storming home from well off the pace to make a winning start here last month; travelled strongly into it and sure to improve from that initial effort; big chance.

Lots to like about the way WHIMSICAL DANCE came through to win easily here on debut. She travelled powerfully into it and once she hit the front she had a good look about before easily going clear. She will improve from that and looks well placed to make it 2-2 here. Definitely one to keep on side. Strega has some decent form in the book but was beaten a neck by Sister Seagull last time so has work to do to turn that around. The latter looks the main threat to the favourite as she has won 2 of her last 3 and is trending the right way now. Swoop To Finish ties in with that form having finished back in sixth behind Moira so needs to improve again to get involved at the business end here.

Race 10 Del Mar 1.30 Cave Rock (11/10)

Exciting colt who showed serious speed to take it up on debut and dictate throughout before powering clear; always in his comfort zone on that occasion; can improve and likely has this field covered.

The gears CAVE ROCK showed on debut were seriously impressive and if he improves again then the rest are going to struggle to lay a glove on him here. He clearly has a huge engine and has such a high cruising speed. I’ll be surprised if he is beaten tonight. If there is a danger then it could be Havnameltdown who is 2-2 himself and beat Agency in good style last time. He should confirm that form and might be the one to chase the favourite home. Newgate made a bright start winning on debut as well and showed a good attitude so looks to have a future but this is obviously a big ask just second-up. Classical Cat impressed on debut too but again this is a very strong renewal.
