Race 9 Belmont At The Big A 10.13 Truancy (10/11)

Promising filly who caught the eye running well to finish second on debut and then improved to win convincingly over 7f at Saratoga last time; more to come stepping up to a mile and one to keep on side.

I’m sticking with TRUANCY to make it 2 wins from 3 starts. She went close on debut and then stepped forward to win well last time. She will be even better up to a mile here and looks to have a great chance of going in again before being targeted at bigger and better things. Sweet Mystery was a place behind the selection on debut but well held and improved to win next time out. She was beaten last time though albeit a good second so might be the main danger to the favourite. Caramocha ran better than her reappearance when second last time and with more fitness on side might be best of the rest. Forty Smooth arrives here on a hat-trick but this looks much deeper company to me.

Race 7 Thistledown 8.50 Awesomely Shy (11/10)

Likeable filly who made it 2 wins from just 3 starts over the extended 5f last month; capable of better again and will likely push forward and look to make all under aggressive tactics so hard to oppose.

This might not take a great deal of winning so that makes AWESOMELY SHY a strong play at Thistledown tonight. She has already won 2 from 3 and was not for catching last time. She goes up to 6f but the way she hit the line last time you wouldn’t worry too much. She looks to have the most potential in the field and I’ll be surprised if she is beaten. Bourbonwithginger beat Gray Royality earlier in the season and was in front of Sky when second over track and trip last time so might be the main danger. She is more exposed though so will likely need a career best and strictly on the clock has ground to make up with the selection if trying to dictate. Caltha needs to bounce back but has a squeak too.
